We asked Mumblers in our chat group for some ideas of where to get some tried and tested maternity clothes in Doncaster and online. Hope it helps if you’re pregnant and looking for some tips!
“It’s not anyone locally but I LOVE Seraphine for maternity and nursing stuff. The quality is so good and lasted throughout maternity/nursing 2 children”
“H & M were always by far the comfiest and best maternity clothes I found”
Quite a few people recommended H & M. There is a store in Doncaster Frenchgate, although many people said there is more choice of maternity clothes online and a good maternity section in H & M Meadowhall.
“Seraphine, JoJo Maman Bebe, La Redoute, Next, H & M and M & S usually have a maternity section online”
“I found Dorothy Perkins good”
“Matalan used to have a nice selection when I was pregnant, jeans, leggings, quite a few tops.”
“H & M and Dorothy Perkins for casual wear, Seraphine for events or work”
“I always used to wear a feeding bra, with a longline jersey vest over the top & then a shirt, sweater or top over that”
” I came across Stylish Mum at the Doncaster Big Latch On, they had some lovely tops and dresses which were a bit more fitted”
“In winter I go for the ‘one up one down’ method. Just use a normal vest top under any other top/jumper. Pull the vest down with the nursing bra, and the jumper up. Jumper covers top boob, vest covers belly and back so you’re not exposed (or cold)”
“I used the one up/one down method for years when feeding my son. Bought some nice long vests from next then wore my normal clothes on top. Also wore quite a few wrap dresses and used the same technique.”
“I find maternity tops hard work, all the clipping and unzipping was too time consuming. Went with a normal next size up or baggy top/jumper and cheap normal vests from either Primark or Asda that have good stretch or pull down. “
The Doncaster Mumbler Chat Group is a closed group and if you’ve got a question about anything baby or children related, feel free to join and ask for support or recommendations from other local parents. 💜
Lots of recommendations for the ‘Can I breastfeed in it?’ group on facebook too.
