Sponsored blog post by The Mum’s Coach
My name is Dr Anjali Raj Westwood. I am a Mum’s coach, educator, TEDx speaker and birth worker (and I live here in Doncaster). My passion lies in supporting and guiding individuals towards their goals and as a birth worker over the past 8 years, I have supported parents in their journey from pregnancy to parenting through fertility education, antenatal classes, hypnobirthing, labour support, breastfeeding and more.
My academic research has investigated a range of maternity related topics, the latest being return to work. I am in the process of writing a book on breastfeeding for the working mother. Then I came across coaching, and I have not looked back since. I’d like to tell you a bit more about what coaching is and how I might be able to help you.
Motherhood brings with it unique challenges. Unique to every individual. A coach is your sounding board and ally. Coaching is a collaborative process where a trained professional supports individuals in reaching their goals, unlocking their potential, and making meaningful changes in their lives. I don’t tell you what to do, I work with you to identify what you need to do for your situation.
Irrespective of your journey of motherhood, you face challenges. It could be your fertility journey, your evolving identity as a person, your workplace, your birth experience, your postpartum support (check out my TEDx talk on this here). I could talk about this all day. Working with a coach helps you navigate these transitions and challenges.
If you are a working mum, I understand that transitioning from maternity leave to the workplace can be overwhelming. I can guide you every step of the way by working with you on managing your time effectively, balancing professional and personal responsibilities, and building your confidence in the workplace. The goal will be to enable you to return to work feeling empowered and equipped with strategies to maintain a healthy balance.
A few common areas where women can benefit from coaching during their journey of motherhood are:
Irrespective of which phase of motherhood you are currently in, coaching is a liberating experience that encourages self-discovery and fosters personal growth and relationships. You will discover more about yourself, identify practical strategies, and find balance as you embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery
What services do I offer?
1. Personalised 1:1 session (Fertility, Pregnancy, Postpartum)
This is my primary offering. I am happy to do it in-person (if you are based in Doncaster) or virtually. You can book a single session or take up a package of 3/6/9 sessions.
2. Personalised 1: 1 session for Return to Work
The return-to-work package includes coaching and advice sessions. The advice sessions will include resources and guidance on conversations with the workplace to set you up for a successful return to work and setting up for breastfeeding (if applicable).
Only multi-session packages are available as single sessions will not be enough. The first package is 6 sessions, 2 of which will be during pregnancy and 4 after. The second package is 4 sessions during the postpartum period. I am happy to do it in-person (if you are based in Doncaster) or virtually.
3. Group sessions
I am happy to offer group sessions if you are an organisation who wants to have a session for your staff, or you are a group of friends who would like to be coached together. Group coaching is very powerful and fun at the same time!
