Born and Bred in Doncaster (BaBi-D) is a research programme aimed at improving health and wellbeing outcomes for children and families across Doncaster.
Lead by Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH), working in partnership with RDASH, Doncaster Council and Primary Care, the programme is also supported by The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.
Pregnant women in Doncaster are invited to join the BaBi-D project (you’ll be invited to take part by your midwife) and if you choose to take part, you’ll be helping researchers collect data about you and your baby so that they may learn more about how families in our area can live healthier, happier lives.
Your information can help the researchers explore questions like:
• Are there relationships between things that happen in pregnancy and children’s future health?
• How many children in our area have asthma? Are children in some areas more likely to get asthma than children in other areas?
• How many mums in our area experience postnatal depression or diabetes in pregnancy? What could be done to help prevent depression or diabetes and provide support for the family?
You can download BaBi-D information sheets here if you would like more information about participating.
BaBi’s 1st Teddy Bear’s Picnic is a series of events being held this May/June, for families with children aged 0-3 years old (older siblings are welcome too). There will be lots of activities for the whole family, including a picnic for the little ones. Find a picnic near you.
