Many of you may have been to Brodsworth Hall before. The spectacular Victorian stately home is just north of the city on the other side of the A1(M). The gardens there are spectacular year-round, but particularly at Christmas time.
Each year they put on a special Father Christmas event which is a magical way to start the festive season. Taking time out of what is surely a very hectic schedule, Father Christmas comes to the site to meet your little ones and tell some of his favourite seasonal stories around the Christmas tree, in group storytelling sessions. Afterwards, you and your children get the chance to meet the man himself, take photographs and make memories to treasure. Father Christmas also gives every child a traditional present to unwrap too.
Set in the spectacular entrance hall to the site next to a grand staircase and a huge real Christmas tree, the scene could not be any more festive.
Tickets for the sessions with Father Christmas cost £9.50 per child. You’ll also need a ticket for Brodsworth itself unless you are an English Heritage member. But that ticket means you’ll be able to visit the site aswell as meeting Father Christmas which makes for a great day out. The gardens there are particularly spectacular at all times of year, but are perfect at Christmas for a family adventure in the fresh air. Stroll through the statue walks, the fern dell grotto and the beautiful dells. There’s a lovely adventure playground to explore aswell.
