Stockeld Park is a magical place to go any time of year! It’s about 50 minutes drive away from Doncaster and we went for the first time during the Easter Holidays 2019.
It really was a jam packed day. I think we picked a great time to go, as the weather was a bit warmer, the days a bit longer etc. We started with the play area, which was great for all ages. My children were 7 & 5 but it was a good play area for younger ones too. They had one of the big bouncing pillows too which got a lot of use!
There was a huge inflatable slide and we went on the go-karts too (which was all included in the price).
We opted to take a picnic but there is a really nice cafe there and great food options. There was lots of space to picnic either on tables (with umbrellas) or on the grass. There were lots of people playing with balls on the grass too or generally running around. It was a nice open area.
Other activities included in the price were roller skating and the Enchanted Trail.
I hadn’t roller skated for SUCH a long time and my mini mumbler had never done it. We really enjoyed it. There didn’t seem to be a time limit and it wasn’t too crowded either.
During the Easter Holidays they have an Easter Trail which is just brilliant. We had to search for the eggs and mark them off on a sheet. My kids love a trail so this was perfect. The trail is through the Enchanted Forest which has all sorts going on – play areas, sand pits, little houses and interactive things like dragons.
There is a large lake in the middle of Stockeld Park, on which you can hire a Buccaneer Boat and over Easter they also have a Panto this year, which is an additional cost.
We saw chicks hatching inside (where there is also another little play area), plus there were crafts going on at certain times of the day.
Our last challenge was to make it through the maze. It is a proper maze, we really enjoyed it, although we did get well and truly lost at points. There are interesting things to look at all the way around and my mini mumblers loved reading the funny road names.
Overall i’d say it is great value for a full family day out. We were entertained all day and the kids were worn out.
