Doncaster Mumbler FREE Community Bug Hunt – Coming this Spring!
If you’re looking for something FREE and SAFE to do this Spring and over the Easter Holidays in Doncaster, we have created a big community bug hunt for families to take part in at various locations across the borough!
The Bug Hunt will run from 15th March – 12th April 2021, and you’ll meet Dennis the Detective Bee, who LOVES to follow clues and solve puzzles to help his friends.
Dennis will need your help to solve a particularly tricky case.
We’re lucky that Doncaster has plenty of parks, playgrounds, woodlands and green spaces and Spring is a perfect time to go on an adventure outdoors. Hopefully more sunshine is on the way! We’re delighted to be setting the trail up in multiple parks and woodlands across Doncaster between 15th March-12th April, or you’ll be able to set up your own trail at home or in your educational/childcare setting.
Head to the main Bug Hunt blog here to download your trail sheet and see the locations of the trail.
Be sure to sign up for our newsletter here and keep an eye on our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). We’ll also have LOADS of resources and activities available for you to download to do at home too. Join in and use the #BUGHUNTDN to share your photos with us!
If you run a setting and would like to use the Big Community Bug Hunt Resources for the children in your care, on your premises, please contact me by filling out this form and you will be sent a resource pack.
There may be some funding available for any settings that are eligible for funding through Get Doncaster Moving‘s Active Communities Grant scheme – this could cover the costs of anything that you need to purchase to support the set up of the trail. There’s more information about Active Community Grants here: https://getdoncastermoving.org/active-communities

When you do the trail we have a free book giveaway too, in collaboration with Hungry Little Minds!
