Doncaster Big Latch On 2020 – Celebrating Breastfeeding 1-7th August

It’s almost time for the Doncaster Big Latch On, however as anticipated, this year things are a little different.

We can’t do a picnic in the sunshine, but we can come together virtually to inform and support Doncaster mums in their breastfeeding journey. The past few months have been especially hard for new mums, so please do get involved and find out where you can get support and chat to other mums who are in the same situation.

Sunday 2nd August 2020, 10.30am we’re joining in with the Global Big Virtual Latch On. Join us over in the Doncaster Big Latch On facebook event and ‘latch’ on together online!

1st to 7th August 2020 is World Breastfeeding Week and we’ll have some tips, advice and support from Doncaster Health Visitors posted to the event throughout the week. Topics will include:

Positioning and attachment
Responsive Feeding
Expressing
Weaning and breastfeeding
Teething
What’s in breast milk?
My baby’s still hungry after a breastfeed

Wednesday 5th August 10.30am Live ‘Baby massage and yoga for colic and tummy discomfort’ session with Tots Play in the Virtual Doncaster Big Latch On Event on facebook.

During this 20 minute live session, Claire will teach how to ease the discomfort of tummy pain, wind and colic through a gentle but very effective routine, combining massage, yoga and soothing holds. This is tried and trusted by many class mums over the years and is suitable for babies 2 weeks to 12 months old.

You can also join our local Breast Start groups in Doncaster, which are currently running virtually.

A 24/7 breastfeeding friend from Start4Life is now available on a number of platforms including Amazon Alexa and Facebook Messenger to support breastfeeding mums.
