Delicious Doncaster Food and Drink Festival ONLINE

From the 5-7 June 2020,  Visit Doncaster and dnconnects.com are bringing us a Food and Drink Festival with a difference!

Last year I spent a brilliant weekend at the Delicious Doncaster Food & Drink Festival, co-ordinating the Mumbler Family Zone. Whilst we can’t do that this year, here is what’s happening online! Get involved from home!

• Professional cooking demonstrations –Check dnconnects.com for show times.
• Lockdown Kitchen – Ever wanted to be a TV Chef? Video yourself and send it to [email protected]  (Videos should be LANDSCAPE and no longer than 10 minutes long). See more advice on what to include in your video here 
• Stay at Home Bake Off Adult – requirement to bake a cake of any kind (e.g. flourless, dairy free, vegan etc.).  Entries should be submitted to the Events Team email address as above with a description of their entry accompanied by THREE photographs:
  • The finished cake
  • The cake cut open so we can see inside
  • You or a family member eating a slice… so we know it’s yummy!

  Junior (under 14) – requirement to bake buns or cupcakes of any kind (e.g. flourless, dairy free, vegan etc.).  Entries should be submitted to the Events Team email address as above with a description of their entry accompanied by THREE photographs:

  • The finished cake
  • The cake cut open so we can see inside
  • You or a family member eating a slice… so we know it’s yummy!

  ALL ENTRANTS to both competitions should also state in their email submission their name (age for juniors) email address and contact phone number.

  Judging – The Events Team will be the Judging Panel and will shortlist 3 finalists in each category.  All 6 shortlisted finalists will receive a Delicious Doncaster goody bag.

The 3 finalists in each category will be voted for by the public on the Visit Doncaster Facebook page.

      Prizes – The overall adult winner will receive a voucher for an Afternoon Tea at the Mansion House (once it reopens safely and valid for 12 months) and the  Junior winner will receive a voucher to be spent at any of the food units within the Wool Market, again once safely reopened.

Oh and one further prize for our 2 overall winners will be a Meet and Greet with our Celebrity Chefs at the 2021 Food Festival next year!

A montage of all entries will be put together and added to the dnconnects website, so you’ll all get to see your work featured.
