” Beverley (Bev) has been the childminder to my little boy since he was 10 months old and not only has she been exceptional at providing care and support to my little boy, but to us as a family. It was clear from an early age that my little boy had SEN and not knowing much about how to access support and where to go we relied heavily upon Bev, who sought answers on our behalf. Bev has supported us with speech and language therapy, even coming to a couple of sessions with us to ensure she could carry this on in her setting and contributed to the creation and development of his Personal learning plan, along with Early Years. She has taken the time to complete arduous and monotonous paperwork to ensure that my little boy’s referrals to the correct health professionals and his transition to nursery have been actioned. Bev has made herself heard as a professional, advocating for my little boy and ourselves when needed. She has done this in her own time, often after working hours and will always answer a text when I need a little advice. Recently, my little boys behaviours have gotten more prominent and disruptive and although witnessing these can deliver an emotional blow, Bev has handled these situations with her usual care, compassion and professionalism. My little boy will begin transition to nursery in September so will not be with Bev as much soon, so this nomination is our way of thanking her for all the care and support she has given us this far, and no doubt will continue to give.”
