Father’s Day is coming up later this month (21st June) and as social distancing restrictions are still in place, we’ve put our heads together and come up with some alternative Father’s Day ideas for the whole family to enjoy!
BBQ
My husband is a big fan of lots of meat and always a fan of a good old bbq! Not just your burgers and bangers affair either, turn your back garden into an American style smoke house! Stock up on lots of juicy cuts of meats, different rubs and marinades. Doncaster Markets are open, with social distancing measures in place for you to pick up fresh BBQ meat. or maybe fish for the BBQ for a change? The Crab Stall at Doncaster Markets has lots of fish that is ideal. If you’d like something delivering Toppings Pies have some speciality BBQ packs that they can deliver to your door. Lets just hope it doesn’t rain!
Home Made Sweet Treats
My husbands weakness, and I haven’t met a man yet that doesn’t love a piece of Rocky Road! It’s so simple to make – you can easily get the kids involved. Add Daddy’s favourite chocolates and biscuits to customise! Its so easy to make – break everything up, put it in a bowl and add melted chocolate then put in the fridge to set for a couple of hours!
If home baking isn’t your thing then check out some of these fabulous local places who have been delivering or are now open for take-away!

Beer
Which Dad doesn’t like beer? We do actually have some great locally brewed options and although we can’t go out to enjoy it, plenty of places are doing home delivery or collection including Doncaster Brewery & Tap, Doncaster’s Micro Brewery with cask ale, traditional cider, craft ale and bottled world beers, Don Valley Brewery, with hand crafted four cask beers or The local bar Branton, have Craft Beers & Gin& Tonic available for delivery in Doncaster.
Virtual Day Trips
Check out our previous blog, just because you can’t travel, doesn’t mean you can’t go anywhere!
Pub Quiz
Get the kids to write some of the questions and get other households involved over a zoom party! We’ve even got quiz questions ready for you!
Vouchers
We’ve also come up with these downloadable vouchers (click on the link below) – print them off and colour them in – an ideal home made Father’s Day gift, and they can all be redeemed whilst still on lockdown!

We have listings of local deliveries and take aways, so why not treat Dad to dinner at his favourite restaurant – safely delivered to our door!
