Swim, Skate, Cycle, Sing and Dance at the Dome this February half term!
The Dome is a great place to spend a day over half term and they have lots of activities to keep the kids occupied – will certainly wear them out!
With loads of fun activities why stick to just one? If you weren’t aware, they have a great ‘Big Day Out’ pass, which makes it really affordable for the whole family (family of 4) to swim and skate in one action packed day.
Tickets are valid all day from opening 10am until 4pm Mon to Friday during the school holiday and weekends only during term time. The sessions are a minimum of a 90 minute Big Splash swim and a 90 minute Ice skating session and skate hire is included too!
The Big Day Out pass is £30 if you book online and £36 on the day, so worth booking online to make the saving – this is the price for the whole family!
Swimming
We’re lucky to have a swimming pool, with slides, water fountains and fun stuff so close by.
During half term, the Big Splash is running during the day time. See session times here.
The Lagoons at the Dome consist of 7 interlinked pools for all ages from a shallow, paddling area with water jets and little slide/climibing frame for babies and toddlers, to larger pool and rapids for stronger swimmers. See our review of swimming at the Dome here.
Skating
As everyone has ‘Dancing on Ice’ Fever, it’s a great time to hit the ice!
There are lots of general skating sessions too, so whatever you’re ability. See all sessions here.
The Dome are running a Slide to Glide Ice Skating Course during half term ( a 5 session course). To book, call 01302 370 777
If you’re child wants to learn how to skate like a pro, this is perfect.
See our Mumbler review of skating with our Mini Mumblers here.
Valentines Ice Disco ❤️
For a Valentine’s date with a difference head to the ice caps – perfect for teens and young adults to go with friends, a fun skating session to top chart hits and love songs. No booking required for this session. (Adults £4, Junior 3.60, Skate Hire £2.00)
Cycling
The new cycle track opened at The Dome last year and if you haven’t yet been, it gets some great reviews over in the Doncaster Mumbler Chat Group!
“If you’ve not been before I highly recommend it. It’s a decent sized track with no traffic to worry about and my son is happily whipping round it. There’s a little cafe right next to it with hot drinks and snacks. It only cost £2 to put him on it.” DD Facebook Jan 2020
We visited recently and it was brilliant for my Mini Mumblers – aged 8 and 5. I noticed that there is a smaller area available which is sectioned off for little one’s who might be on balance bikes or learning to ride.
Pay & Ride sessions during half term:
There is also an accessible session Wednesday 1.30pm-3.30pm (accessible trikes available to hire).
Half Term Cycle Fun Day – February 17th
There will be weird and wonderful wheels to have a go on, including unicycles, tandems and even a penny farthing! There will be races for adults and children with medals too!
Clancy Briggs Cycling academy will be on the balance bike track from 10am-12 noon offering a free balance bike session.
On Friday 21st February, the hugely talented Little Mix Tribute band will deliver a high energy show at The Dome! Packed with Little Mix’s greatest hits, it’s suitable for all ages to dance and sing a long! Find out more and book tickets here.
