There are so many new and exciting things happening in Doncaster in 2020. I’ve pulled some together so you don’t miss out on any! If you’ve anything new that you can share with us, please send the details to me and I will add here for others to see.
- NEW Clancy Briggs Cycling Academy at the Dome starts January. The new cycling track is proving to be a big hit with Mumblers over in our Chat Group. Did you know that there will be NEW Subscription based classes, great for children 18 months – 16 years of age from January? There will be Balance Bike Classes, Pedal Bike Classes and Race Sessions, run by Ed Clancy OBE and Graham Briggs..The Clancy Briggs Academy offers a group environment, encourages learning and development, rewarding that commitment and development with the opportunity to look after the “Clancy Briggs Bear” as part of their journey. Your child will become part of a group that learns to play at cycling together, rewarding each other and spurring each other onwards as they acquire new skills and abilities. NEW FREE exhibition at The Point – Wow Said the Owl. Opens 7th January. Based on the much-loved children’s book, Wow! Said the Owl by Tim Hopgood, the exhibition has been specially designed to appeal to families and especially under five-year olds, with lots of sensory and interactive elements. I’m taking the mini Mumblers for a sneek preview and will be doing a full review next week so will let you know what we think! Find out more about it here.
- NEW Tree Trek, Zip Park, Free Fall and Climbing Wall at Bawtry Paintball Fields, opening January. Suitable for 6+ years,
- NEW Daisy Foundation Birthing Classes, start January. Daisy offers a selection of classes, workshops and group sessions that meet the needs of expectant mums and new parents from early pregnancy right through to toddlerhood. Brand new in 2020 in the Doncaster area, you can find out more here.
- NEW Custom Built Swim School in Bawtry! Swimstars and Dolphins will open their second custom built swim school in April 2020. Find out more here
- NEW Doncaster Central Museum and Library, opening Summer 2020. The existing museum based on Chequer Road will close in January, with the brand new site opening later in the year. Read all about it here.
NEW Savoy Cinema and restaurants in Waterdale, opening Spring 2020. Work is in full swing on the six screen cinema and five restaurant development in Doncaster town centre. Located in the Civic and Cultural Quarter, it sits snugly next to the Cast performance venue and frames Sir Nigel Gresley Square. Find out more here.
- NEW Charity Superstore The Hangar. Opened it’s doors recently, supporting the Children’s Air Ambulance service, based at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, which is a national transfer service for seriously ill babies and children. Some great feedback in our chat group over on facebook “It doesn’t feel like a charity shop all light airy and fresh” SP FB Dec 2019. There is also a play area for little ones!
- NEW Indoor Rock Climbing and Bouldering coming to Doncaster in 2020. More information will follow, but this sounds really exciting!
