Lakeside Village is set to launch the festive season in style this year, rolling out a one-day Christmas extravaganza jam-packed with entertainment and activities for all the family.
The centre’s inaugural Seasonal Festivities event, hosted by Trax FM, is set to take place on Sunday 1 December from 11am – 4pm, with a headline set from Doncaster’s very own musical superstars, Bang Bang Romeo taking place at 3pm.
Here’s the full itinerary of activities for the Seasonal Festivities event:
11am – 4pm Santa’s Workshop (more information below, advance booking recommended) Festive Wish Tree Rocking Robin Hunt Snow Fairy and Elf photos
Bang Bang Romeo performance 3pm – Live music taking place near M&S Outlet
For our younger shoppers, Santa’s Workshop will be open on the day giving children the chance to embark on a magical adventure that leads to Father Christmas himself. The experience costs £5, plus a fifty pence (50p) booking fee. To avoid disappointment, pre-booking for the Workshop experience is strongly advised as large numbers are expected. Book here for your Santa’s Workshop experience.
Kids can also have their photo taken with a Snow Fairy and an Elf; enjoy a Rocking Robin Hunt, searching for Rocking Robin around the centre to win a festive treat from our Cadburys store; and get crafty, too, with a Christmas Biscuit Decorating Workshop taking place from 11am – 4pm.
Lakeside’s popular, free-of-charge outdoor cinema will also be returning for one day only, showing Christmas favourites The Grinch and Elf on the big screen.
Di Rodgers, centre manager at Lakeside Village, said: “We’re so excited for our Seasonal Festivities event, getting Christmas started with a real bang and giving our customers a whole host of entertainment and activities to really get them in the festive mood.
“From our Christmas Cinema to fantastic offers across the centre, as our Black Friday Weekend sales continue, we can’t wait to welcome everyone down to Lakeside for a day of festive fun and cheer.
“In the spirit of Christmas, we’ll also be raising funds on the day for our Charity of the Year, DonMentia – a vital cause that supports those living with dementia in the Doncaster area.”
Other activities set to take place on the day include a Festive Wish Tree, which encourages customers to share their wishes for the festive holidays with us; free mulled wine and hot chestnuts; and – of course – a whole host of seasonal food and drinks.
