Cast theatre have launched a new project to keep your little ones busy over the Summer holidays; Adventures in Donnyland!
Online, self-guided creative adventure for children aged 5 – 11 and their families – enter Donnyland HERE for lots of simple but entertaining activities for your little ones. From baking scrummy jam tarts to creating bunting to hang up and celebrate the Queen’s of Hearts Jamteenery (yes, that’s a thing, didn’t you know?) there’s a lot of fun to be had.
Cast are also running free, online workshops to go alongside the Adventures in Donnyland project. These are on Mon 17 August and Wed 19 August, and all you need is access to the internet take part. Each workshop will be hosted by one of the characters from Donnyland (who are, coincidentally trained drama practitioners); play drama games, get active and learn new Donnyland songs with them from the comfort of your living room.

Boston Park Farm is a firm favourite for Doncaster families and from 5th July it will be reopen.
Due to government restrictions, not all of the farm will be open, however activities that will be open include:

A note about Annual Passes
All Annual Passes that were still valid on 21st March 2020 will be extended for 15 weeks from the date of expiry. This will be done automatically.
There will be a special Annual Pass Open Day on 4th July 10am-4pm for annual pass holders only. Annual pass holders can bring along 2 members of their own family free of charge too!

Caged Steel Martial Arts are working together with a local Co-Op Member Pioneer and the charity MIND, sharing their common goal to improve communities and connect people.
Caged Steel Martial Arts will be donating a fun-filled Martial Arts lesson, taken by their head instructor Chris White. This session will be for kids aged 7-9, entry is just £3 and all proceeds will go to MIND. You must book in advance.
The session will take place at the Doncaster Martial Arts Centre who have kindly provided a safe environment for the session to take place.

The Great Yorkshire Maze is a brand-new attraction for all the family nestled in beautiful countryside at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds.
We have a field full of fun with nine acres of maize plants and never-ending paths to explore in the Yorkshire Rose Maze, and for younger adventurers there’s the two-acre Scarecrow Mini-Maze.
The Vintage Funfair offers thrills for adults and children alike aboard the 1930s Speedway, Dodgems and Chair-o-plane, while the Hush Hush Train ride and Swing Boats will delight the little ones. Test your skills at the game stalls and win a prize every time!
For some competitive family fun and more prizes have a go at Football Darts, then enjoy live entertainment in our Big Top with a cuppa and cake, a Berry Best Ice Cream or a barbecued bite.

A wonderful place to discover spectacular views of the Peak District, ancient woods, parkland and heather moorland. Nearby Padley Gorge is great for paddling.
Several car parks including the main Woodcroft car park (which has toilet facilities), plus the smaller Wooden Pole and Haywood car parks. There is a large house, currently closed during the Covid pandemic.
We visited recently (about an hours drive from Doncaster) and it was a great place for a walk, with stunning views, lots of interesting trees and dens. We were amongst the grazing sheep too. There is a large pond with ducks. Toilets were open in the main car park. Parking is free for National Trust members.
Just nearby is Padley Gorge, which is brilliant for paddling.

Within historic woodland along the River Nidd is Mother Shipton’s Cave, the birthplace of Yorkshire’s famous prophetess. It is situated next to the Petrifying Well, England’s oldest visitor attraction. The attraction tells the story of Mother Shipton and the water which turns objects to stone.

We have visited here a couple of times. It is well worth a trip. We loved climbing the Abbey Ruins and following the river. There is a great adventure playground too.

There are centuries of history to explore in these gardens and perfect picnic spots, plus a castle that’s not quite what it seems!
Large play area suitable for all ages too and seasonal trails around the gardens. We visited in October 2019 and did a lovely trail with the kids.

Pugneys Light Railway is the scale miniature railway operating within Pugney’s Country Park during the summer and most school holidays.
Blown Away adventure trail : Zoom the zip line, snap yourself in the face boards, solve the puzzle boards, count the Geese, make some noise and more…a circular route around the lake accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Throughout the week our 6-18-year-olds will take part in theatrical workshops, featuring Dance, Drama and Musicality all around our central theme of the week.
Following Covid-19 & Government guidelines children will take part in the workshop in bubbles of a maximum of 15 students in each group that they will remain with for the week. We will be working towards an end goal that every student can be proud of!
Weather permitting there will be a socially distanced LIVE Performance on the Friday in our outdoor Theatre. The performance times will be staggered in the afternoon on Friday.

Covid19 Update: Reopen from 4th July.
Thoresby Park, about 40 mins from Doncaster, is a lovely place to visit all year round with a range of attractions for all of the family no matter how young or old.
Opening times are from 10.30am until 5.00pm, admission is free, we visited recently (Dec 2019) and they were building a new car park.
Beautiful surroundings, arts and crafts gallery, outside play area and seasonal trails. There is lots of space to run around and picnic.
There is a licensed cafe and some shops in the courtyard.
9-Hole Farmyard Crazy Golf Course open from Thursday 2nd July.
Situated in a walled garden, sessions are available every half an hour Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-3.30pm.
£4 per player, tickets must be pre-booked online.
The online staggered booking system ensures social distancing.
They have a maize maze opening in time for the summer holidays too, plus a cafe and farm shop.
We visited (4th July) and it was brilliant. We were the only household in the crazy golf area, everything was sanitised. The kids even got a play on the play area which was open (allowing max 8 children, with requirements that children from different households don’t play on the same equipment at the same time. My children were able to rotate around the equipment taking turns with other children who were using the play area at the same time. Hand sanitiser was at the gate to be used before entry). Mr Mumbler bought some amazing sausages from the farm shop!

Grimm & Co first appeared at the Wentworth Woodhouse gardens during the WE Wonder 2019 and were such a hit, we’ve invited them back.
On Wednesday 26 & Thursday 27 August their Enchanted Glade is the place to be for magical, creative activities for for children aged 5 – 11 and their families.
Activities will be staged at specific times so numbers and social distancing can be carefully controlled.
You will be welcomed into the Enchanted Glade at these times each day (arrive early as places will be limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis):
