Are you looking for something to do with family and friends or seeking a fun day out with the kids in Doncaster?

Then why not explore Doncaster on this self-guided Murder Mystery themed Treasure Trail. As you follow the Trail route, can you solve the sneaky clues set on existing buildings, permanent features and monuments to eliminate the suspects to discover whodunit?

The circular Trail route starts in the middle of Doncaster and shows you many different sides to this town of many faces. You’ll be solving Clues via the theatre, museum, park, market, minster and old Roman fort so there’s plenty to discover!

Junior Rangers Gathering @ Sandall Park

If you want to join or help in any way please do get in touch and/or turn up on the day.

10am in the main picnic area next to the car park.

Activities will depend on the weather: could be painting a rainbow bench; painting rocks to hide around the park, litter picking or playing games. Who knows!

Did you think the age of dinosaurs was well and truly over? Think again! Enter through our Jurassic gates this Spring and prepare yourselves for a MONSTER day out because something ROAR-some is happening at Stockeld Park during May half term!

Take a walk through the Enchanted Forest but watch out… somewhere deep inside, dinosaurs are on the loose and we need your help to find them!

You can dig for fossils at our dig site and take part in our dino craft sessions with the Stockeld Rangers too!

Keep your wits about you during your visit because you never know when you might come face to face with our Raptor who will be roaming the park every day! He’s a curious creature and is looking forward to meeting you, so grab a selfie if you dare!

Cusworth Hall (Museum and Park)

Often described as a jewel in Doncaster’s crown, Cusworth Hall is a beautiful Grade I listed building set in acres of historic parkland. The house was built between 1740 and 1744 for local land owner William Wrightson and recent refurbishments have transformed the Hall into Heritage Doncaster’s social history museum.

From setting up home to working and socialising, the museum collections reflect the daily lives of people in Doncaster from the 18th century to the present day.

Today, visitors can step inside the Hall’s Great Kitchen where many feasts were prepared and view the stunning paintings on the ceiling of the chapel.  Admission to the museum is free. Opening times:

  • Monday to Wednesday- 10am to 4:30pm
  • Saturday and Sunday- 10:30am to 4:15pm
  • Thursday and Friday- closed

Cusworth Park

The historic parkland surrounding Cusworth Hall is open to the public every day of the year.  It’s the perfect location for picnics, walks with the dog, or family days out.

Children’s play areas and a playing field are also located within the Park and a variety of walking trails are available from the Hall reception.  Admission to the Park is free (car parking charges apply) 

Food & Drink

Situated in Cusworth Hall’s former stable and coach house, Butlers Tea Room and Bistro serves meals, snacks and drinks – please visit their website  for full details including opening hours.

The newly opened Old Brewhouse  is a cosy microbrewery and bar built into the original brewhouse which served the Wrightson family for centuries.

Dinosaur Fun Day at Boston Park Farm

Come along and join in with lots for our Dinosaur fun on Friday 31st May 2019.

Tricksy the Dinosaur will be making appearances throughout the day plus two baby dinosaurs will also be here for you to meet.  There will also be Dinosaur crafts, a dinosaur hunt and face painting too.

The farm and tearooms will also be open as usual.
This event is ticket only and tickets can be bought for either morning (10am – 1pm) or afternoon (1pm – 4pm) sessions Tickets are £3 for toddlers (1 & 2 years old) , £5 children 3 – 12 years old, £1 for Adults, under 1’s are free. (annual passes can be used)

Join our fairy guided walks through the enchanted forest and experience a magical fantasy world – discover tiny pixie dwellings, friendly dragons and fairy hideaways!

Meet Corrie our magical unicorn and follow the trail to find all the mischievous fairies hiding around the park.

Join in the fun with our fairy and elf dress-up selfie stop and have a go at magical fairy arts and crafts and face-painting in our Art and Crafts Room.

Watch the fairy antics in our spectacular free-flying bird and animal displays and take part in amazing animal encounters!

From Sat 25th May, Magna Science Adventure Centre will signal the start of the summer months when it re-opens its popular AQUA-TEK outdoor splash park this May half term. Children of all ages can create a splash with the range of water-based activities AQUA-TEK offers, including hidden sprays, mists and jets of water.

In addition, visitors will be able to explore the SCI-TEK adventure play area. Specially designed to let children of all ages explore and learn through play, SCI-TEK is a wonderland of texture, colour and fascinating features! Think linked trampoline sets, spinning bowls, tilted roundabouts, twisted slides, rockets and castles…all you need to spark the imagination and get active!

Open Cockpits Day at the Yorkshire Air Museum

A unique chance to climb aboard the Museum’s amazing collection of aircraft. Many of our aircraft are entirely complete, including cockpits and our visitors would love to see inside.

Spring Bank Holiday Fun at Yorkshire Wildlife Park

The fun goings on this May Bank Holiday coincide with May half-term and the annual British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (BIAZA)’s Love Your Zoo week which calls for communities to visit and support their local zoos and wildlife parks and the role they play in conservation, welfare and the environment.

Amongst many other experiences, visitors to the park this week will learn about the amazing rescue of the Brown Bears from Japan, see the Amur tigers – the largest of all the big cats in the world, and walk amongst the animals in the South America Viva reserve.

Comic Book Superheros event.

A special new event takes place during Spring Bank Holiday weekend – a marvellous Comic Book Superheroes event from Friday May 31st until Sunday June 2nd.

The incredible Superheroes weekend will include an immersive exhibition of life-sized statues of iconic characters including Spider-Man, Iron Man and Hulk, and original comics, in partnership with The World of Superheroes.

The event, taking over the park in Branton, near Doncaster, will also include a spectacular ‘Hollywood Movies Stunt Show’ every day.

Visitors can enjoy an amazing Fan-Zone, which showcases comic book models along with face-painting, superhero crafts and a themed trail around the park.  You can even grab a selfie with a 1989 Batmobile!

The incredible Stamping and Paper Craft Show returns to The Dome on Saturday 2nd June.
