The school are hoping to complete a virtual journey to their link school in China. That’s approximately 5000 miles!!
The virtual journey/challenge is set to take place during April, which encompasses the school Easter holidays, therefore they’d love children and parents to join in and complete the minimum 10 miles. You can find out more about how it will work here.
Can you help them to reach their destination?
All you have to do is pledge the number of miles you will complete of their journey. There are endless ways to get your miles in, why not walk them, run them, cycle or swim them? You could even use your scooter (so long as it is foot powered!). It’s up to you.
There is a medal for each successful participant, which has been designed by one of their pupils, James aged 6 who won a competition held at the school.
The school have also hidden painted rocks around Doncaster! Hidden to add a little bit of an extra incentive to get you out and about earning your Challenge China miles, you can look out for them in Sandall Beat Woods, Sandall Park, Grove Gardens Park, Cusworth Hall Park and around the lake at Lakeside! If you find one of the painted rocks, the school would love you to take a photo and post it to the Doncaster Rocks facebook page. Please re-hide in the same location for others to find.
Here at Mumbler, we are all for encouraging kids to be active and get outdoors, and we love searching for rocks! So we’ll be visiting some of the venues above during the Easter holidays!
