The Aquapark is now open again for summer, where you can climb, slide and make a splash on their floating inflatables and tackle the course that features climbing walls, slides, runways and a giant blast bag! New for 2023 is a huge sky rocket and a trampoline.

The natural lake pool also offers the opportunity for swimmers to brave the elements and enjoy swimming in a safe outdoor environment.
For those who prefer to stay dry, you can challenge yourself to reach new heights on the 14-metre-high climbing wall. There are plenty of aerial challenges and obstacle courses for you to complete off the ground. If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, you can find your thrills at an axe-throwing or archery session.

Padley Gorge is located in the Peak District, near NT Longshaw Estate (we parked there and walked through it to get to Padley Gorge). It was full of families paddling, with plenty of space to put a blanket down and have a picnic there too.
The kids loved climbing over the rocks in the water – we were there for ages and there was an ice cream van too. Longshaw was a nice place to have a family walk and there was a cafe and toilets aswell.

There’s a lovely trail here following the river with waterfalls, sculptures, stepping stones, picnic areas, a playground and a cafe. There is a small water park with sprinklers and a pool to paddle in, but Rivelin Valley is a popular place to go paddling in the river. It’s very pebbly though so take some water shoes if possible.

Bentley Park is a fantastic outdoor space, with the borough’s only water play area. We visited in June and the water area is very small but there’s lots of other play equipment in the park to keep children busy. We combined our visit with a trip to Boston & Co cafe (just next to the playground) which was really nice. It had highchairs, a baby changing area, a children’s menu and a small play corner for little ones.
