Mess Around South Yorkshire have introduced an amazing new range of messy play materials for you to use at home!

We were lucky enough to be sent a Messy Mayhem Kit to try out. Whilst these kits are just perfect for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers who are starting to explore and create, my mini mumblers (aged 8 & 6) loved them too. Which child doesn’t love the opportunity to get messy!
The messy mayhem kit includes the following:
***Add any choices and childs NAME for playdough Mat into the notes section when ordering***
The coloured rice was a big hit in our house – it comes in separate colours, but it was all mixed together by the kids as soon as we got it – we got the toy pots and pans out, plastic bottles, trays, funnels etc. We created a cafe and buried things in the rice. The water beads were very well played with too! We tipped them in to water to see if they floated and as we played with them outside it was great to see the light shining off them in the water. We popped them and generally enjoyed how squishy they were. Quite therapeutic!
Playdough is a favourite at any age…we love playdough and we got personalised mat with the children’s names on – I can imagine that this would go down really well with younger children who are maybe just learning to recognise their name written down. The Mouldable soap was brilliant. We squirted it in the garden and enjoyed blowing it around and catching it, then it was used at bathtime too.
The slime was mega slimy, so that was a hit and the cloud dough was something we’d not used before so that was fun. The Cornflour Gloop was something we had tried to make at home previously. This is very strange to handle but great fun.
Within the instructions that we received, all of the ingredients were included for each produce. Products are non-toxic and have been carefully risk assessed for children under 5.
The play ideas provided give you a bit of inspiration, particularly if you’ve under 5’s and especially at a time when you can’t get out to playgroups. I thought that this was just good to go and made it really easy. This is a great kit if you want to do something a little more structured at home – it provides some activities you can spread out across the week. It get’s hard thinking of things to do, plus it is delivered directly to your doorstep.
I also thought that it was great that the kit came in a sturdy tray. This was especially useful for tipping the slimy things in to as it kept it all together and was easy to play in.
Mess Around South Yorkshire have a choice of kits available besides the one we tried.
A Very Messy Caterpillar Kit
