Hi my name is Rebecca Howlett, I run Bloom baby classes in the Doncaster area for babies between 6wks and 14months.
Bloom classes are highly interactive, sensory and fun. Each activity has a purpose; to develop baby’s fine and gross motor skills, early language acquisition, core physical strength and provide the opportunity for magical memories and bonding between you and your baby. A different theme is introduced each week to create a fun change and introduce babies to the world around them. Alongside running Bloom baby classes, I am able to go into Nurseries holding sensory, music and activity sessions and I can provide POP UP BIRTHDAY parties for babies 1st and 2nd Birthday.
I love running the classes and seeing the babies expressions as they learn to hold an object, reach up to the parachutes, shake a Pom Pom and smile at their mummy and daddy, as they play peekaboo with our beautiful scarves. It’s great when I hear how much mums and dads have enjoyed the class and to see their faces light up as they see the new themes and props I introduce each week.
My background – it all started at college 25 yrs ago when I learnt about child development (nursery nurse training). After my college days I went on to work with children and adults in the community with learning and physical disabilities
I learnt makaton and supporting people on the autistic spectrum which was very humbling and rewarding. I feel very privileged to have been a part of those people’s lives and to have got to know their families. In 2013 I took up a Social Work degree and worked in a Child Protection team, this was a massive challenge to me and those family and friends that know me best, knew that I was best suited to a more therapeutic role, as I struggled to switch off from some of the harder situations I came across. Five years later I looked in to Bloom classes who provide franchise opportunities. Victoria Jennings the founder of Bloom and I discussed the benefits of Bloom for parents and babies and I knew it was something that I was made to do! I love sharing knowledge and listening to others, Yes I’m also a people pleaser and proud of it, I am learning to be a business women too which is exciting as it is terrifying.
My Bloom Doncaster journey has only just begun but I have already met some amazing people and have a group of regular mummies and daddies that I see each week. It is amazing to see their babies grow from week to week and how they are learning and developing.
Here are some reviews:
“I started attending Bloom Baby Classes with Becky at Finningly Village Hall some time ago now and can honestly say it’s the highlight of mine and my little boy’s week. We get so excited to see what the theme will be and Becky does a wonderful job of bringing in extra props to make our memories and photos that little more special. The music is fab and we love to dance and sing along too. There are so many lovely props and sensory toys to play with, not to mention the fab little ball pool, lights and giant Caterpillar. We have so much fun and cant wait to see what the next week brings ” Jolene, attends Finningley Village Hall classes.
“We love our weekly Bloom classes. Becky is very engaging and gets to know all the Mums and babies closely. My little girl always gets something from the classes and they have helped her to develop various skills.” Faye, attends Finningley Village Hall classes.
“I’ve taken my son to the classes at our village hall since he was 6 weeks old, seeing him interested and engaged in the activities is just the best. Fun, colourful and stimulating, I can highly recommend the classes” Elizabeth, attends classes at Wadworth Village Hall.
