Time is precious, especially when juggling things around the little ones. Researching and booking a holiday or short break can be time-consuming and frustrating, with time spent trawling through travel websites, brochures and Trip Advisor and listening to everyone’s advice!
Luan Thornhill at Hays Travel, has run her own business for the past three years, after a long career with the NHS! Deciding to change her career for a better work life balance, as a single parent with two young boys, it was a daunting move but she is now flying high with recommendations. With the backing of Hays Travel, who are voted in the Top 100 Best Companies to work for, Luan has access to a huge range of holidays, which outweighs anything else available on the high street.
If you’re looking to book a holiday, Luan can help deliver the holiday of your dreams from Benidorm to Bali, Florence to Florida or Majorca to Mauritius. Here she is with a few tips for booking your next holiday.
“If you have an idea in mind that needs pulling together, give me a call and I will turn it in to reality! Tell me the type of holiday you would like, the dates you can travel and your budget…then leave the rest to me. Whether you’re escaping for a romantic break or looking for a family holiday, I will tailor make your perfect holiday.
My top 5 tips for your precious family holiday
- Book early if you are a larger family! You will benefit from better room choices, keeping you all together.
- You shouldn’t have to pay for the privilege of being seated with your child. Being seated together on the plane is generally at a charge, however when travelling with young children (under 12) the airline will always seat a child with an adult (but maybe not all of you together).
- All Inclusive is fabulous for some, but not for everyone. Weigh up what you like to do on holiday? If you a generally exploring, then you’d not get great value from All Inclusive. If you like to use the hotel, kids club and enjoy the pool, then it is more for you.
- Think of the temperatures – some areas have intense heat and it is too much for your skin and your little one. It can be just as lovely and warm elsewhere.
- Take out travel insurance! Insurance is invaluable and essential, so much so that I am thinking of including it in all my quotes. You wouldn’t drive a car without it, so don’t travel without it.
Some great destinations
So many people are flocking to Turkey or Egypt where the heat is in the high 30’s and there are plenty of beaches and pool activities. Most of the hotels have a water slides or some even boast a full on water park. Turkey & Egypt have got to be the number one spot for an all-inclusive this year, with fabulous high spec hotels and value in resort too as not in the Euro.
Fantastic offer in May 2019 at this lovely hotel in Corfu, flying from Manchester
The Spanish islands, Spain itself and the Greek islands are forever popular as the appeal of the short flights and familiarity are enticing to holiday makers.
However, often long haul holidays can sometimes beat the closer to home destinations on price, call me for options. I’ve seen prices for the Caribbean especially Cuba and The Dominican Republic at similar prices to those in Europe and with all the diverse culture and beautiful beaches and warm seas, why wouldn’t you go that bit further to sample something completely different?
The Indian Ocean has been a top seller too with me finding some fab prices for Mauritius with direct flights. It is known for its beaches, lagoons and reefs. The mountainous interior includes Black River Gorges National Park, with rainforests, waterfalls, hiking trails and wildlife like the flying fox.
Maybe you do not want sun, sand and sea. Are you looking for a romantic city break, maybe away from the children, somewhere like Reykjavik, where on a clear night you can see the Northern Lights (seasonal) or what about Rome, Budapest, Krakow, Barcelona, all well loved.
Once-in-a-lifetime 6 night adventure Iceland and New York, booking for February 2020
New York is also very popular especially in the winter months and the run-up to Christmas, Las Vegas is another top seller with people taking in a show, and trying their hand in the casinos.
As you can see the options are endless and choices are vast. The holiday season is never over, there is a big wide world out there with so many options for your winter break, summer break, spring or autumn. What are you waiting for? Give me a call and let’s work together and I’ll find the perfect getaway.
My service is FREE of charge, I am paid by the Tour Operator when you book with me. Also I can sell any of the leading brands you may see online at the same price (operator dependant), so don’t hesitate to give me a call with what you have seen and you can benefit from all I have to offer, included in the price. It is so much better to use me than the internet as you save yourself a lot of time and money, plus on top of that you are supporting a local business and gaining a personal service.
