“Relax and Rejuvenate” Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra Workshop

September 30, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Carmen invites you to join her for this lovely restorative yoga and yoga nidra workshop. She is a registered Level 1 Relax and Renew® Restorative Yoga Teacher and a Certified Yoga Nidra Teacher and knows how important it is to self care. Many of us lead busy stressful lives, which often includes caring for others that we rarely find time for ourselves to fully rest free from distractions. This workshop is ideal to allow yourself some time for you, a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning to unwind relax and let go, to recharge your body, mind and spirit and leave feeling balanced and restored. During this workshop we learn about and experience Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga. We will begin the session with Yoga Nidra allowing the mind and body to deeply rest. This is a guided deep relaxation technique, offering relaxation on physical, mental and emotional level and is a powerful stress management tool. Nidra means sleep. In yoga nidra you retain awareness while allowing the mind waves to slow to the frequency of dream and deep sleep. Your system is able to rest deeply while accessing the subconscious. Yoga nidra is in fact not really a single practice, but rather an experience of altered states of consciousness, essentially meditative experiences which can be used therapeutically for healing. Rejuvenates the mind, body and soul. You will experience two Yoga Nidras one at the beginning of the workshop and at the end.
I will guide you through a sequence of restorative yoga postures using props to reduce stress, giving support to induce relaxation. The guiding principle of restorative yoga is the use of props to support the body in positions of ease and comfort to facilitate relaxation and health, it is a passive and deeply therapeutic form of yoga that provides deep rest for tired bodies, relaxation for busy minds and rejuvenation for the entire nervous system by way of strategically positioning of props. Surrendering our weight to the props to relax, you release and open the body by softening into the stretches, the use of props allows you to hold poses longer, giving you all the benefits of deep passive stretching. We will then end the session with a another delicious Yoga Nidra. The focus will be to calm and nurture ourselves on all levels during the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for all abilities, no yoga experience is necessary. Particularly beneficial for if your feeling tired, run down, stressed, exhausted or recovering from injury or illness.
Cost £35 includes a light lunch afterwards and refreshments.
