We didn’t either, but I found out about it recently and we decided to give it a go!
After googling it, I found out what we should be looking for:
15 Green posts and boxes around the lake, that have a QR Code on them
I found a map. My children love a map! Might be useful to print out and take with you if you prefer a paper version. Discover Lakeside trail map
I needed to download a QR Reader on my phone – this was simple (Free) and took a couple of minutes
Once we had figured out what we were looking for and where, we came across a green post fairly quickly on the Island. We scanned the QR Code, a few bleeps and we were accessing fun facts and questions about Lakeside and the surrounding area.
We opted for Family Quiz questions mainly, but also had a look at some of the Heritage ones, which were full of interesting facts, about our town. The nature trail told us something interesting about spiders in the tunnel leading to the marina, so look out for that one. We definitely looked at some things we’ve never considered before!
We had a fun morning and although we have walked or scooted around the lake many times, it gave it a different twist. We also found two Doncaster Rocks, which we re-hid in the area!
