This Easter, children and young people from across the Doncaster borough are invited to join darts‘ artists to make music, dance, create art and clown around! It’s easy to join in online from the comfort of your own home.
These workshops are designed to be inclusive for Disabled and non-disabled children and young people and their families to get involved in together. No previous experience is necessary, and you are guaranteed to have a good time.
All of the sessions are led by experienced professional artists who will help you to get stuck in and develop your creative skills. Those who attended our online sessions in February half term said:
“Thank you, it was a mega start to the day – we loved it!”
“That didn’t feel like an hour – it felt like 10 minutes”
“My daughter loved the session today, thank you!”
Here are the sessions that you can get involved in this Easter:
Monday 29th March 2021, 2-3pm, Zoom, £2.50 per child (Booking closes Monday 22nd March 2021)
Join us for a dazzling ‘Zooming’ disco with our resident dance artist Charlie! This is the perfect opportunity to shake off the winter blues and show off your best moves. We would love your music suggestions too, email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what your favourite dancing tunes are! Don’t forget to include your address on Eventbrite, so we can send out a disco gift to you.
Wednesday 31st March 2021, 1-2pm, Zoom, £2.50 per child, Age 5+
Inspired by the bright displays of colour in Kate Sully’s exhibition at The Point, create a bright rainbow hanging with artist Karen Hall. Colour, stitch and add embellishments to create your very own rainbow art to hang in your window.
You’ll receive a pack of materials in the post, so you’ll be ready to join in with the online session. Don’t forget to include your address on Eventbrite, so we can send out your materials pack.
Tuesday 6th April 2021, 11-12pm, Zoom, £2.50 per child
Join drama artist Val for an hour of fun, silliness and clowning. Create frozen images, play drama games and even use household objects to create amazing costumes. What can you transform a blanket or a cushion into? We will be playing with some clowning techniques as well, so bring along your red noses if you have them. You do not need any costumes or a red nose to take part in this session, but if you have any favourite items in your dressing up box, please do bring them along!
Wednesday 7th April 2021, 10-11am and 1-2pm, Zoom, £2.50 per child
Are you ready to make some noise? Join musician Gary to create instruments from things you find around your house, and make some music. Drum on the floor, bang pots and pans and make fantastic sounds in this fun workshop.
We love to see young people and their parents, carers and siblings having fun and getting creative together. Even though we can’t get together at The Point, we can still have a brilliant time online. These workshops are so accessible and the artists are lovely and friendly.
